Our Achievements & Awards

2020
  • Supported Singapore's efforts in battling COVID-19 by expanding our nation's Mobile X-ray fleet by three units, which enabled X-ray services to be available at Community Care Facilities. This included:
    • ​​Converting ​our Mobile BMD trailer to a Mobile X-ray trailer in a record 12 days
    • Designing and building two new Mobile X-ray containers in collaboration with Temasek Foundation. They were the first in Singapore to be equipped with a Negative Pressure System (NPS).
  • Delivered swab samples safely and quickly from polyclinics to COVID-19 testing laboratories in hospitals for timely processing.
  • Led a team of phlebotomists to support serology testing operations by NHG at migrant worker dormitories.
  • Implemented COVID-19 antibody testing at our laboratory at Buangkok Green Medical Park.
  • Hosted our largest cohort of radiography students to help fulfil their graduation requirements during the pandemic, when there was a national shortage of radiography clinical postings.
2019
  • Launched the second Mobile BMD to increase screening capacity in the community
  • Launched the second Mammobus to expand its screening capabilities. This is the first Mammobus in Singapore installed with the FFDM (Full-Field Digital Mammography) unit.
  • Achieved ISO15189 accreditation for our X-Ray laboratories, the first medical imaging facility to be certified such in Singapore.
2018
  • NHG Diagnostics, Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) and Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) launched the Community Mammobus Programme to encourage more women in workplaces and communities to go for affordable mammogram screening.
2017
  • Partnered Primary Care Networks (networks of general practitioners) to provide convenient retinal eye checks and foot screening on board our Mobile Community Health Centre (CHC) for their patients with diabetes.
  • Provided on-site scoliosis screening for primary and secondary students on board our Mobile X-ray at HPB Building.
  • Introduced primary care’s first conveyor system at the laboratory in Hougang Polyclinic, which facilitated efficient lateral transportation of specimens from phlebotomy counters to the processing laboratory.
2016
  • Introduced Mobile Ultrasound service at Jurong and Hougang Polyclinics.
  • Upgraded conventional X-ray systems to Digital Radiography Systems in satellite imaging centres with high patient workload.
  • Started Home Phlebotomy service for homecare partners and their patients.
2015
  • Partnered Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) in the set up and management of new mammography service at the SCS Multi-Service Centre in Bishan.
  • Introduced Mobile X-ray service in the 28th SEA Games 2015, Singapore’s 4th time hosting the Games after a 22-year long hiatus.
  • Introduced Mobile X-ray service in the 8th ASEAN Para Games 2015, Singapore’s 1st time hosting in the history of the Games.
  • Partnered SCS to process Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) Kits in support of the National Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme.
2014
  • Collaborated with the NHG Regional Health System (RHS) to provide on-site health screening services for Central Region Needs Assessment (CRNA) and community centres.
  • Introduced Faecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) analyser in the back-end laboratory at Buangkok Green Medical Park.
2013
  • Launched Portable Ultrasound Service to provide on-site ultrasound services for clinics that do not have a dedicated in-house ultrasound system.
  • Introduced primary care’s first ceiling-suspended X-ray system with height-adjustable examination table at Woodlands Polyclinic to support the needs of ageing population and patients on wheelchairs.
  • Introduced primary care’s first Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) system in Jurong Polyclinic to double the throughput for screening.
2012
  • Digitisation of Tele-Electrocardiography reporting at all NHG Polyclinics
2011
  • Launched Singapore’s first Mobile Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) service to provide accessible and affordable osteoporosis screening in the primary healthcare setting.
  • Appointed the official mammogram screening partner for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2012 Campaign.
  • Launched a revamped Mammobus with a new facade and digital mammogram machine.
2010
  • Introduced primary care’s first biochemistry analyser, which enabled our laboratories to process a greater repertoire of on-site tests and reduced the overall results turnaround time.
  • Introduced Mobile X-ray service at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, creating a new milestone in wireless transmission of images on board.
  • Introduced Mobile X-ray service at Singapore’s first Formula 1 Night Race by Singapore Grand Prix.
2009
  • Set up Medical Courier service to transport blood specimens from NHG Polyclinics to hospital laboratories for processing.
2008
  • Introduced National Cervical Screen Singapore Programme (CSS) on board the first Mobile Clinic in Singapore.
  • Equipped all NHG Polyclinics with spirometry service for the testing of lung functions.
  • Introduced laboratory’s first pneumatic system in Hougang Polyclinic, allowing specimens to be transported between two levels in a fast and seamless manner.
2007
  • Officially launched two Mobile Digital X-ray containers (MX I and II).
  • Accredited with triple ISOs for all centres located within NHG Polyclinics:
    • ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System)
    • OHSAS 18001:1999 (Occupational, Health and Safety Management System)
    • ISO 15189:2003 (Specific quality and competency requirements for Medical Laboratory)
2006
  • Assumed operations of Mammobus from Breast Cancer Foundation. Mammobus is the first and only mobile mammography unit that was accredited under the national BreastScreen Singapore (BSS) programme
  • Launched Mobile Digital X-ray I container (MXI).
  • Won the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) National Infocomm Merit Award for teleradiology and filmless project
2005
  • Introduced teleradiology in Singapore and pioneered the country’s exploration into the world of tele-medicine.
  • Completed implementation of Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archival and Communications System (PACS) in all NHG Polyclinics.
2004
  • Set up first back-end laboratory at Buangkok Green Medical Park to provide off-site laboratory support to NHG Diagnostics Satellite Centres.
2003
  • Commenced the provision of professional radiography services at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH).
2002
  • Took over the operations of 6 NHG Polyclinics' laboratories. Subsequently, radiology services were introduced.
2001
  • Collaborated with Health Promotion Board (HPB) to facilitate the National Breast Cancer Screening Programme at 4 NHG Polyclinics
  • Assumed laboratory operations in 3 NHG Polyclinics.
2000
  • National Healthcare Group Diagnostics was formed in October 2000.
2019
  • Achieved ISO15189 accreditation for X-Ray laboratories, the first medical imaging facility to be certified such in Singapore.
  • Awarded Workplace Transformation Best Practice Medal at the National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity Medals 2019 for transforming our laboratories with technology adoption and software customisation.
2014
  • Awarded Gold Award at the Singapore Health Awards. This award is a continuation of efforts to encourage healthy lifestyle among the staff. NHG Diagnostics received one Bronze and two Silver awards in 2008, 2010 and 2012 respectively.
2012
  • Awarded Silver Award at Singapore Health Awards. 
  • Joined efforts with NHG Polyclinics to achieve the latter’s Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for Primary Care Centres.
2010

  • Joined effort with NHG Polyclinics to attain the latter’s Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation for Primary Care Centres, reaffirming continuing efforts at better and safer care
